But the solid cedar deck was very expensive to have custom made and it is a shame I had to cover it all up. So the next deck I built across the street seven months ago I used Deckover only this time the Smooth and did not use Cedar but pressure treated wood. You think I would get the idea that Behr deck paints don’t work on wood decks. But I used Behr paints for cement, for my exterior paint on my new home, and interior and I absolutely love all of their other products. But the seven month old Deckover Smooth is peeling off everywhere on my new deck after only seven month.
I had a ramp built for my powerchair and within 6 to 7 months I have to redo the surface and Refill cracks due to paint and cracks failing to cover. We had to remove it all with belt sander and two weeks worth of scraping it was a timely and expensive project. Talk about deceiving advertisement! This ‘product’ is a complete fraud and a waste of time and money.

We have used this product for a couple of years. When we applied the heavier on last year, it was bubbling and peeling up all over the deck. This year, we attempted to have it repaired, but too costly. So we spent weeks peeling up everywhere it was bubbling. Then we sanded the edges and stained. Our deck will never look the same unless we spend thousands and hire a professional to repair it.
I too would like to be part of this lawsuit. I have used this on my deck three times. Have done everything according to all their directions and still it peels, and bubbles. It has also just come off when it rains. We have experienced everything the above people have experienced. Our grandson fell thru the deck and injured his knees.

Wood is rotten and it’s peeling horribly. Applied this product last summer. Hardly any door traffic on deck all winter.
You can add us in your law suits. I am sure we have all the receipts from purchasing this horrible product. Deckover has made my summers horrible. BEHR sent me 6 more gallons of this crap to redo my deck. Redid it and have had to deal with peeling and chipping …then scraping and reapplying for the last 4 years.

Not to mention hard on the back!!! Glad to see they will be held accountable. We redid our deck and within five months it had to be redone. It seems to do okay on vertical surfaces. Does horrible on horizontal surfaces for which it is advertised.
Followed the directions exactly using all of the Behr products. Looked nice for a few months then noticed slight peeling. The next spring it was coming off in sheets. I bought a lot of this deck over and my deck is constantly peeling.
I also purchased 5 cans and it peeled almost immediately. My hubby assumed I did it wrong and paid someone last summer. It all makes sense now our deck is ruined. My deck is ruined and it will need to be totally replace. Paid ALOT for money for this product thought it would be great.
This was done in April 2013, the deck over has continually, come up in different places and also had to replace rotten wood caused by using this product. I am currently requesting my statement fro Home Depot used during this period. I have my bank statement where I paid contractor $1150. Please notify how to include myself in the case. I have the same problem…The paint is peeling all over the deck. Used this product & it is terrible.
Deck is a complete mess have pictures of it and it was guaranteed for 25 years or 30 forgot which but didn’t last a year. Definitely bad stuff, we did a 3000 square foot deck and the stuff is peeling and need to do it again. I also bought eight cans of Behr DeckOver and my deck is completely a mess. Some of the paint is flaking off and there’s nothing I could do about it.the other parts are too thick for remover to work. Used DeckOver and next summer started seeing bubbles.
Behr DeckOver paint is a complete failure. Prior to painting, the deck was prepped according to directions on can. First there were bubbles that turned to peeling and then large chunks of paint peeled off. I can provide photos of the huge mess we have. Sounds like Behr has a lot of unsatisfied customers, myself included.
Using this product was a mistake. Coverage claims on the can are misrepresented. Takes almost twice as much as claimed. This stuff doesn’t hold up and now what? Recoat or scrape off or replace wood. We applied 2 gallons to a pier and within a year it peeled terribly.
Very DISSATISFIED. I NOTED THAT I do no have a receipt, however I may locate one. After we spent so much installing it and then puttin this on it, iAM EXTREMLY DISSATISFIed with this Product. I used this product on an old wooden swing set 2 years ago and it still looks great. No peeling or cracking I love this product.works great . Did these customers read the instructions. Also purchased this product it also bubbled up bubbles actually popped and then the overlay actually just pulled itself back in big peals .

We brought 6 cans and by the following season it was to say the least worse than when we applied it and we kept our deck covered by our outside screen. We used this product, and it did chip and bubble. I finally, this past weekend was able to get my 16×8 wood deck back on my RV, so far I haven’t put nothing on the wood yet, it is treated lumber thou. We had to rent a sander and try to remove the stain.
When I called Behr Customer service, I was told that she could not discuss it because there was a class action lawsuit. Here we are 3 years later, and we have a peeling deck with at least 7 rotting boards. I am sure that more rotten boards will occur and we will have to replace the entire deck. Did two different decks each 16×20. Peeling needs completely redone.
